Volunteer Opportunities:
Current Opportunities:
We will be hosting a teacher
luncheon on Jan. 22nd.
If you can bring soups, salads,
desserts and door prizes please contact vip@rusticoakpta.org.
Ongoing volunteer opportunities:
-
Labeling of books in the Teacher Literacy Library Resource Room,
please email
VIP@rusticoakpta.org to set a date.
-
Environmental/Recycle: We are seeking
volunteers to help once a week with campus paper recycling, once a
month to help with recycling drives, and at various times during the
year to help promote awareness information. Also, please contact
environmental@pta.org if
you have a truck and trailer available to use to transport
recyclables after our monthly recycling drives.
-
Music Class. The
music teacher, Mrs. Taylor, needs help with music programs.
-
The Library.
The
librarian, Mrs. Christopher, has books to return to shelves as a
weekly position. There is a new room for the literacy library that
the teachers use to check out books for their classes. We need
someone who can organize these books for the teachers.
-
Cafeteria Help. The
cafeteria could use a few parents to monitor and help kids during
lunchtime.
A
couple of reminders:
1) Don't forget to log your volunteer hours each day you work.
Maybe you will be next month's winner.
2) Also, please be sure and fill out the criminal background check
on the www.pearlandisd.org website. It has to be renewed each
year for those who have done this before.
Rustic Oak Elementary
has THE best parent volunteers in Pearland. We would not have that
awesome reputation without your hard work and willingness to help out.
If you are interested in being a part of our VIP volunteer team
1. Please
complete and return the Volunteer Interest Finder Form:
Volunteer
Interest Finder Form.pdf or
Volunteer
Interest Finder Form.doc
OR email VIP@rusticoakpta.org
2. Also, there is a background
check on the
Pearland ISD website each parent needs to fill out before
volunteering.
I know we all have busy (and different) schedules, so
there are many ways to help. You can volunteer weekly or bi-weekly in
the VIP workroom at school, assist with book fairs or carnival, or even
do some work from home. If you have any questions, please feel free to
email me at
vip@rusticoakpta.org. I would love to answer any questions.
Please make plans to attend our PTA Volunteer Orientation on September 8 so you can get a better idea what VIPs are all about.
Thank you for considering this service opportunity.
Thank you,
Pam Brooks, VIP Chair
