| Why should I get involved? |
Because of your children and because of your community. Studies have shown that
membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a
greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to
be an informed, involved parent. These are dangerous times for parents to learn
ways to keep children safe, trouble-free and involved in school. PTA is the
place to gain that knowledge.

| What is the purpose of PTA? |
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school,
community and place of worship
- To raise the standards of home life
- To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
- To bring a closer relationship between the home and the school, that parents and teachers
may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth
- To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as
well as secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical,
mental, social and spiritual education

| What is PTAs Mission? |
- To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the
community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make
decisions affecting children
- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their
children
- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation

| What does PTA do? |
PTAS work for children. PTAs meet together, study problems,
support teachers, volunteer in schools, attend workshops on
parenting and become informed on issues regarding children and youth. As a result, PTA members become better
parents, teachers and citizens.

| How do I join PTA? |
| Fill out membership form and turn it in along with $5.00 membership fee per
person to the School Office or directly to any PTA Board Member. Membership
forms may be requested by contacting the membership Chairperson by e-mail,
membership@rusticoakpta.org or info@rusticoakpta.org? |
