Frequently Asked Questions

Please submit any questions you would like to see included in the FAQs.

Why should I get involved?
Because of your children and because of your community. Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent. These are dangerous times for parents to learn ways to keep children safe, trouble-free and involved in school. PTA is the place to gain that knowledge.
What is the purpose of PTA?
  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship
  • To raise the standards of home life
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
  • To bring a closer relationship between the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as well as secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education

What is PTAs Mission?
  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation

What does PTA do?
PTAS work for children. PTAs meet together, study problems, support teachers, volunteer in schools, attend workshops on parenting and become informed on issues regarding children and youth. As a result, PTA members become better parents, teachers and citizens.
How do I join PTA?
Fill out membership form and turn it in along with $5.00 membership fee per person to the School Office or directly to any PTA Board Member. Membership forms may be requested by contacting the membership Chairperson by e-mail, membership@rusticoakpta.org or info@rusticoakpta.org?
